One of the best unexpected features of the beach house is the upstairs deck on the front of the house. It is accessible from the great room and it is completely enclosed – no steps to reach the lower decks. So this deck is basically a big, outside play area! They can walk in and out of the great room onto the deck and back and they love it. They have immediate access to the outside whenever they are awake in the house.
They spend a lot of time running back and forth across the deck, yelling the whole way.
And of course climbing on the chairs.
This morning we started our morning out there – sitting in the rocking chair, watching the sun rise over the ocean. If I have to start my vacation mornings early, this is a good way to do it.
