The past two weeks have been very, very hot. We have moved quickly from one air conditioned space to another and done our best to stay cool. The kids don’t mind the heat as much, they love being outside regardless of the weather. So we have tried to spend some time outside in the evening after dinner each night. Yesterday was the hottest day yet – the temperature hovered in the high 90’s with a heat index topping 105 degrees. We went to a friend’s house and the kids started playing inside and one-by-one wandered outside to play. They changed into bathing suits and swam in the pool and played on the water slide. Once Ruslan was in the pool he was happy to play in there with Juliana. I have no idea how many times Wyatt went down the water slide, but it was a lot. He lined up with the older kids and slid and splashed over and over again with a huge smile on his face the entire time.
In fact the kids had so much fun that we bought something new for our backyard. More on that tomorrow (spoiler alert: it holds lots of water). In the meantime here are a bunch of pictures of the kids having a blast in the water yesterday. They were all sad it was time to come inside and get dressed and Wyatt cried when we told him it was time to go and continued to cry as we drove away.
