It was finally Ruslan’s turn for a Mommy day and he was excited to go to the Pirates game with me. There would be undivided attention from me, the promise of a treat, and he would get to run the bases after the game.
We arrived early enough for him to run through the . . . → Read More: Patience at Age Five

The boys finished preschool almost two weeks ago and Juliana is hours away from finishing second grade and we have already jumped right in to summer fun!
The boys spent a day with my Dad on an adventure which included a new playground (new playground, aka playground they have never been to, is the best!)

I was recently on a business trip to Chicago and whenever there was a lull in the conversation I started to talk about the duck – the giant, yellow, rubber duck. Wyatt has been interested in the Pirates all summer and he wears his Pirates baseball hat constantly. I often find that hat in bed with him at night. One day this week the boys came home with an “All About Me” sheet. It was a good rainy day activity – ask the kids questions and record the answers.
Here are some of Ruslan’s comments:

Each summer our childcare program is closed for a few days at the end of the school year and for a few days before school begins again. It involves some juggling and this week my mom took 3 days off to spend with the boys.
Monday we spent 3-1/2 hours at Kennywood; it was . . . → Read More: They Even Went TownTown – Ruslan and Wyatt’s Summer Break

Juliana went to the hockey game with Scott and I Saturday night, it was her first game and she was very excited. Juliana hasn’t taken a big interest in sports up to this point and she routinely confuses the Penguins and Steelers, so we weren’t sure how long she would be happy at the game. I have always wanted to go on the duck boat tour of Pittsburgh – land and water in the same vehicle – what’s not to love! When some other friends expressed similar feelings we made plans. Juliana was very excited about our plan as well. We met for our reservation and boarded Miss Sliberty . . . → Read More: Our First Boat Adventure of the Weekend
